Project life: water-skiing LO

I treated myself big-style, to two Project Life core kits, Honey and Midnight, because I simply could not decide between them. I managed to talk myself quite nicely in to stepping on the whole PL bandwagon. Even though I have been using divided page protectors for years, I didn't have any of the page protectors with 3x4 pockets, so I bought a couple of versions of those, to add to the rest of my rather large and varied collection. The big push for me was getting 168 photos developed from our recent camping trip, with too many good ones to leave on the computer unseen, but also too many to possibly get traditionally scrapped.

I started by making one traditional LO and three PL LOs of holiday snaps from a couple of summers ago; a whole holiday scrapped in an afternoon. Brilliant! Having the two core kits has left me spoilt for choice, and gave me the option of using the cards on my traditional LO too.

Quirky Kit Lite: using up the scraps

I have a couple of Quirky Kit Lite kits that are down to their very last scraps, and decided I wanted to completely empty one of those bags with a LO. I pretty much succeeded with this LO, except for a pack of Kraft alphabet stickers, a printed envelope and a calico flower. I filed those bits and pieces with other stash, and emptied a 12x12 ziplock all ready for my next kit. Job done!

The photos were taken a couple of years ago when my DD got her exam results texted to her while we were on holiday.

I used the MFT Abstract Art stamps again for the ink splotches.

Quirky Kit Lite: Coastal Path LO

As this kit has just arrived, I know for sure it is mostly from the July/August 13 Quirky Kit Lite.

The yellow paper came from an earlier kit ( a Halloween themed one maybe?). I love the background paper.

The splodges have been stamped; having ruined one of my favourite T-shirts with the fallout when splattering acrylic paint on to a previous LO, I have learnt my lesson and bought a set of stamps to fake it.

It's the Abstract Art set by My Favorite Things.

The LO is a lift of one on Jennifer Evan's blog Create Often (which itself is inspired by a LO by Heidi Swapp) but without the interactive fold out bits.

I don't think there is a thing that Heidi Swapp does that I don't like, and the same is true of her designers.

Quirky Kits Lite: Last day BBQ LO

I have completely lost track of what Quirky kit belongs to which month, and mix them all up when I'm crafting any way. Does anyone else scrap with kits this way? I carefully file each kit away in a ziplock bag, label it with the month, then promptly pull bits of paper and embellishments out of umpteen bags in one session, and mess my great system up!

The journalling is non-existent on this LO, which is unusual for me, but the album includes lots of divided page protectors, bought long before I had ever heard of Project Life, and a lot of the photos from this brilliant holiday and a good bit of the journalling, are on the divided pages.

If memory serves me, I'm pretty sure I used one of Shimelle's LOs for inspiration, but can't find which one it might be, but here's a link to her fab site.

A day at the beach LO

I used Docrafts Happy Days collection for this LO. I love this range. I don't know that it was particularly popular as it was widely available for half price, and I bought the 12x12 paper pad for a song, but it is full of lots of lovely papers, with several sheets suitable for cutting up for embellishments.

The photo makes me smile, as it was a bright and sunny day, but fairly typically for a summer's day on a Scottish beach, most definitely wasn't scorchio, so my DS sat there wrapped up with his hood up, but his sunglasses on.

The title is done with the Bigz Block Talk alphabet again...it was worth every penny.

I'm just awaiting a large order from the Sizzix sale. I think I'm addicted :)

Quirky Kit Lite LO

Long time, no see, but I've not been sitting idle honest! I've made quite a few LOs, mostly using the fabulous Quirky Kits Lite. The holidays and life in general has got in the way of posting, but there will be a few posts over the next few days.

Here's the first, from last year's camping holiday. I used white and blue acrylic paint over the papers and the Bigz XL chipboard letters. The photo is awful...not sure what has happened to the light this afternoon, but the LO doesn't have the blue cast like it does in the photo.

I lifted a LO from the wonderful Envisages blog. Scroll down to the Christmas Morning LO. When I look at it now, it isn't really that much like the original (I wish!), and I flipped the design so the vertical bit is on the right, but this blog is so full of fabulous inspiration, it is great for kick starting a scrapping session when Mojo has flown.
