Memory Box Prim Poppy 60th birthday card

I made this card for a fellow crafter, so the pressure was on! I used my favourite Memory Box Prim Poppy die with some lovely but very old Anna Griffin papers, as my pal loves Anna Griffin. I was originally going to place the flowers around the left side of the cut circle as I have with previous cards, but it just didn't look right on the bigger background. Fortunately, I had only stuck the white embossed card front to the purple mount around the edge, which meant I could poke the flowers in behind the aperture. The card evolved from there.

I used my Sizzix Bigz XL spinning platform die to create the pop up insert. The sentiment was done as a print and cut on my Craft Robo.

Sizzix fence birthday photo card

This was inspired by a project I saw on the Sizzix blog here by Tiffany Johnson. This project was the reason I bought the Sizzix Bigz 657689 Fence die. As it is a Bigz die it cuts through chipboard which I used as the base for the fence which I connected with little strips of duct tape, and then covered the chipboard and duct tape with more fences cut from thick card. This makes a fully flexible joint so the fences can be arranged in various ways. The fences were inked with Distress ink and decorated with various dies, paper flowers and metal charms

I used a set of rubber stamps to create the apron, watering can and tools. The little friend sign was made using one of the rectangles produced when the fence die is cut. These are a really handy size for sentiments and I've used this die just to create the waste rectangles. I added a sentiment panel on the back of the centre fence where I wrote a birthday greeting. It was a fun project to do, and my friend loved it.
